Happy Christmas to You All!
Merry Christmas everyone! Well, we’re hurtling towards Christmas at a frightening speed! How many shopping days left? Hang on – I’ve hardly started yet! You know, I thought I’d have so much more time once I’d given up the day job to concentrate on the band but someone seems to have chopped the average day in half – I seem to be more behind myself than ever! Anyway, talking about the band …I haven’t done a blog for a couple of weeks but I must just mention what a great night we had at The Plough Inn Tiptoe at the end of November. Terrific pub; packed out; great atmosphere; people dancing; Nigel, the landlord taking photos; we just had an excellent time. Thanks to everyone who came to see us – it was lovely to see so many friends there. We’re back at The Plough on Saturday 22nd January.
We hope you’re going to join us for some festive fun at The Manor Arms, Burton (01202 482530) on Thursday 23rd December. This is our last gig of the year – and what a year we’ve had! - so we aim to go out on a good one! We’re expecting a few of our regular supporters – and you know what they’re like! – and I reckon we’ll be throwing one or two seasonal songs into the set so have your singing boots on. Should be a good evening. We’re also at the Earthwise Winter Solstice celebration on Sunday 19th December from 7.30pm at the Neptune Bar, Boscombe. This is a fund-raiser for Earthwise (www.earthwise-uk.com).Tickets are available on the door for £6.00 but for that you get us, Sub Giant and Lady Winwood’s Maggot. Got to be worth it!
January is going to be a great start to the new year for us. We are delighted to be playing a headline gig at Talking Heads (Portswood Road) in Southampton on Saturday 8th January. It’s a brilliant place – loads of atmosphere, great sound; and music til late. This will be our first major Southampton gig so do get along and see us there if you can. We’re going to be debuting a couple of brand new songs at this gig too - a bit of a preview to the second album.
We’re back up to The Borderline on Weds 26th January as well. Watch out Roadliner – we’ll be needing your services again! (see the downloadable information at the end of this blog) And 23rd January we’re playing at the warm and friendly Shenanigans Club in The Green Room Portman Hotel Boscombe. Now the 23rd is also my mum’s birthday so I reckon we’ll make it a bit of a celebratory evening….!
As we approach the end of 2004, I just want to thank everyone for all the support and encouragement we’ve received this year. You’ve all been great. Big thanks to you all. Here’s to 2005 – let’s hope it’s a good one! Cheers!

PS There's a Christmas Cracker of a review of the band in the Dec/Jan issue of The Last Word magazine www.thelastwordmagazine.com . (Sarah Swailes one of their writers and her friend Jessica came with us on the bus up to The Borderline.) We picked up our copy at H2O in Christchurch but they're available free from a range of outlets across the counties. Check their website for details. It put us in the party mood I can tell you! But if you can't find one, a copy of the full review will be posted on the cuttings page shortly.
