Well, we’ve had a very interesting few weeks! We did our Ottakars gig with Julie - it wasn’t exactly packed out! However, Ottakars really liked it and for us it was a chance to see if this whole readings and songs concept actually worked. It does! So, we’re back at Ottakars on Wednesday 6th October performing to an invited schools’ audience. Our festival fun continued with performances at Party in the Park in Portsmouth – once again a gloriously sunny day. Considering we’ve had the wettest August on record, we seem to have hit all the fine weather. Obviously, somebody up there likes our music! We then had an extraordinary Sunday where we played at Southsea Folk and Roots Festival and then went on to play at a private function for some great friends of ours. Going from playing on the end of South Parade Pier to moving the furniture in Michael’s sitting room, just proves our versatility. We had a terrific time celebrating Pats **th birthday! Then on to The BAE Club last Friday. This was great. The BAE Club (formerly Plesseys) have only just started putting on live music so we were really pleased that they'd asked us to play. We were made really welcome and the audience was great. Several old friends turned up that we hadn’t seen for far too long and the whole evening turned in to a bit of a party. Our fridge/freezer had broken down (very rock n’ roll) so we invited anyone back who looked a bit peckish to help us eat all the food we’d had to rescue! A 4 0’clock job. We weren’t at our best the following day. But we had recovered sufficiently by Sunday to do a radio interview with Robin Caddy of Saints Radio. This will be going out throughout this week: a track and a bit of chat each evening. You can catch Saints on 107.8FM or on Sky Digital 899 or online www.saintsfc.co.uk
And now for some really exciting news ….. we have secured our first London gig! How about that?? We shall be at The Borderline, Manette Street W1D (part of The Mean Fiddler group) on Saturday 13th November . We are supporting Barb Waters and Cyndi Boste from Australia and will be doing a 40 minute set starting at 8.00pm. You will shortly be able to download a flyer from our website which will enable you to get into The Borderline on that evening for the bargain price of £5.00. Hey, come on, we’re worth it! We’re expecting to take a crowd from our home area , so it could develop into quite an evening! Do join us if you can. Bye for now!
