We continued to have a great week after our Liverpool jaunt. The following Wednesday 4th October, found us on the 1st Floor of the Virgin Megastores in Piccadilly for a little gig to promote our current album Ghosts of Wasted Chances. What a good time we had! The staff were as ever really friendly and helpful and we had a warm audience - many of whom stayed for the whole hour+ performance and shared a glass of wine or two with us as well. Here's a few photos just to prove we were there!...
This is one to keep the Alembic Club happy ....
He's looking very fetching in my feather boa!
(Thanks Helen for the photos!)
It was lovely to see some friends from Bohemian Voices - Janet, Lesley and Anna - well, someone had to help us drink that wine! - my great friend Ray Barker who never misses a London gig - but then the lure of free wine and a bag of nuts and he'll go anywhere!; and great of Alan Levermore of Proper Music Access to come along too.
Then the following day, Alan and I went up to Swindon to do an interview and live acoustic seesion for the Mark Seaman show on BBC Radio Wiltshire. We really enjoyed it. Mark, and his producer, Gerry, made us really welcome; asked us lots of questions and even let us play live on air. The mad fools! Actually, it went really well. At Mark's request, we played a favourite of ours Morning Glory and then took a bit of a chance and did Red Waters - one of our more thought-provoking numbers - but we felt it was a bit different and it worked just as well and as powerfully with just the two of us. We are doing another interview and live acoustic session for the Paul Bedford Show on Fen Radio 107.2FM this coming Sunday evening. Hope you can listen in.
We are now looking forward to our gigs at The Ents Shed in Bedford on Friday 20th October and The Mash Tun Winchester on Saturday 21st October. Hope to see you there!
