Gigging along nicely!
Hi Everyone! Well, here we are and it's almost at the end of January already. We've had a great start to the new year, gigging our socks off. Our first gig of the year was at The Borderline on 9th January. A small, select, enthusiastic audience ensured we had a brilliant evening. It was lovely that in the audience were some friends and colleagues of Alan's from Buena Vista, Jon Webster from the BPI , and of course my fabulous friend Ray Barker - he's been to all our Borderline gigs! Since then we've played at The Railway Inn in Winchester - lovely to see Malcolm Windett from Lost at Sea there ; The Railway Hotel in Blandford - that was quite a night (Hi to Jenny and to Ian who hardly ever miss a gig) - our next gig there , we're playing until midnight! - and last night we were just down the road in The Salisbury Arms, Purewell. If you're interested in live music, you really should check this place out. A pub that's really making a name for itself as a supporter of live music with excellent facilities where they've really thought about what works and is helpful for the musicians. A great sound system, a listening audience, Ringwood Best and an hospitable landlord and landlady! What more can one ask? We've also started the year with some really positive responses to our album Ghosts of wasted Chances : a feature in Maverick magazine, an excellent review in The Orpheus (the free magazine for Virgin Megastore customers); airplay on a number of radio stations; and a big high for us - an interview and live session with the great Dave Lee Travis which we're doing this Sunday 22nd January. Listen in if you can - BBC Three Counties Radio! We have to thank our publicist Sue Williams of Frontier Promotions for all her work on our behalf. Our next gig is at The Horn Music Club, Victoria St., St Albans on Wednesday 25th January. We'd love to see you there.
